Unit II Proposed Negotiated Agreement FY22-FY24

Our Negotiating Team has done an outstanding job reaching a tentative agreement with the Board of Education. We believe the proposed language and salary package is one of the best we've ever had, and will be beneficial to all.

Most of the language is self explanatory. However, we will offer explanations for Article III, 3.02 Work Day, Work Week, Work Year, Working Conditions. Each year there are questions and disagreements regarding Assistant Principals Work Year. Although APs are 11-month employees, they are often asked to work in July. APs cannot be required to work in July, but  many work out of fear of retaliation, resulting in unnecessary complaints and grievances. Also, a big problem with APs working in July is that they do not get paid until August. It is actually not legal to force an employee to wait that long to be compensated. There will still be plenty of time to work 210 days August 1-June 30.

Many Principals take leave in July. Keeping in mind that an administrator should be in the schools during July, two week AP compensation will be added for this coverage. As you can see, this is not a mandatory position. If you are the most senior AP in the school and do not want to work those two weeks, you can decline. These two weeks are a separate assignment and do not count towards the 210 work days. We will continue to work with the Administration to clarify the process.

Please review the proposal below and place your vote to either accept or reject the proposal presented. Voting will be available until NOON on Monday, June 21, 2021. Once voting is completed, we will notify our members of the results. Just a reminder, Unit II & Unit III members vote on their own Contracts. Votes on one proposal does not affect the other.

Voting is for DUES paying members ONLY! Please do NOT forward our email to anyone else. If a member does not receive our email, please ask them to contact our office directly. You will need to provide your EIN# as verification that you are a dues paying member.
