Financial Incentive Rewards for Supervisors and Teachers

(FIRST)

ASASP President James Smallwood joined Board of Education Chair Verjeans Jacobs, John Deasy, Superintendent of Schools and PGCEA President Donald Briscoe to announce the first list of 12 eligible schools to pilot a groundbreaking voluntary pay-for-performance program - Financial Incentive Rewards for Supervisors and Teachers (FIRST).

James declared, "As President of ASASP, I am supportive of the  FIRST concept provided that fair and equitable criteria can be established and implemented to reward teachers and supervisory personnel who have demonstrated achievement of these pre-determined set of criteria.  Further, these identified criteria should be developed by an impartial committee including members of ASASP and PGCEA."
